Is thermal render more expensive than standard render?
In any render project, the cost of materials is less than the cost of labour, scaffolding, waste removal etc. Using a Thermal Render in place of regular render will add around 5% in additional cost but you end up with an insulated home and energy savings year on year
Can my own plasterer or renderer apply it?
Yes. ProofShield’s ThermoSilicone render is applied using the same techniques and tools as standard render. Any experienced renderer or plasterer can apply it. We provide full technical guidance and support
How much insulation does it actually provide?
ProofShield thermal render has a thermal conductivity of 0.058 W/mK, which is significantly better than standard render. Applied at a typical 25mm thickness, it provides a meaningful improvement in thermal performance, reducing heat loss through your walls
and improving comfort.
Do you install the render or just supply it?
We are the manufacturer and we supply the product directly. We can advise on application
and provide technical support, or we can put you in touch with one of our approved installers. Just let us know where you are and what you want doing

Is it breathable?
Our Perlite based thermal plasters and renders are highly vapour permeable i.e. they are very breathable. Why does this matter? Because walls need to be able to breathe if they are to avoid condensation and mould problems
