Is thermal render more expensive than standard render?
The simple answer is “not really”. Materials are a fairly small part of any render job. Our materials cost around 10% more than the cheapest render materials, but save money on heating in Winter and and cooling in Summer. We provide transparent,
manufacturer-direct pricing which you can use to do a comparison with a regular render system
Can my own plasterer or renderer apply it?
Yes. ThermoSilicone render is applied using the same techniques and tools as
standard render. Any experienced renderer or plasterer can apply it. We provide full
technical guidance and support.
How much insulation does it actually provide?
With a thermal conductivity of just 0.058 W/mK, a typical 20-25mm application adds significant thermal resistance to your walls, making it much harder for heat to be conducted through them. The walls will feel warmer to the touch and rooms will feel more comfortable.
Do you install the render or just supply it?
We are the manufacturer and we supply the product directly. We can advise on application
and provide technical support, but the installation is done by your chosen plasterer or
renderer. This keeps your costs down and gives you flexibility.
